GBC® is expanding its line of ShredMaster departmental and small office shredders that will provide consumers with a variety of enhancements, including upgraded security options, quiet operation, environmental features and convenient size, depending on their needs. According to GBC research, shredder capacity, power and noise level top the list of consumer frustrations.
Based on these consumer pain points, the new ShredMaster departmental and small office shredders introduce new technology that increases productivity, is environmentally friendly and is 10 times quieter than other models, which is twice as quiet as any other shredder. The new models have maximum sheet capacities ranging up to 22 pages, increased security level options and are quiet enough for any office environment.
“We found that consumers, when purchasing a shredder, often forget to consider the sound level of the unit when it is shredding in the workplace,” said Kellie Glueck, director of marketing communications and brand. “In addition, consumers frequently struggle with their machine because it lacks the power or capacity to handle the volume of materials they’re trying to shred.
As a result, buyers are purchasing shredders that create more problems than they solve.” The new ShredMaster departmental and small office shredders also save time for users because they automatically remove debris from cutters and come with anti-jam technology, which eliminates time wasted clearing jams. Many of the models feature “green” elements, including energy-efficient technology, a dual waste system that separates paper from other materials to make recycling easier and recyclable paper bags for proper disposal of shredded material. In addition to paper, other shredding capabilities include staples, paper clips, credit cards, CDs and DVDs.
The new ShredMaster departmental and small office shredder models also now come in the highest security level cut available – micro-cut and super micro-cut. “Consumers have more options than ever before with a variety of security levels and shredder sizes that give them confidence their confidential materials are protected,” said Glueck.

With proper disposal of private internal documents and customer information, shredder users can rest assured that performance needs, as well as privacy and security requirements, are met.
